There is no single 'Kent roof'. A distribution unit at Dartford and a Victorian house at Sevenoaks need entirely different answers, and the value of using a specialist is that we choose between them honestly. Single-ply is normally right on large, reasonably simple areas: a consistent factory-made membrane with hot-air welded laps, mechanically fixed or adhered according to deck type and wind exposure. Reinforced liquid is normally right where the geometry is complex or the substrate is awkward, parapets, box gutters, plant bases, stepped abutments, junctions with tile-hanging or stone. On many buildings the correct specification uses both, and where the room below is heated we build the whole thing as a warm roof so the deck stays above dew point. All of that is decided on the roof at survey, and explained in the quotation.
